NOT ALL DENTISTS
ARE SCARY

For Patients
For Dentists

Why this Website?
I have made this website to help answer some of the everyday questions people may have about their teeth and the treatments that are available for concerns they may have.
Yet more importantly
I understand meeting for the first time is confronting, so I want this to be an opportunity for you to get to know me first.
If you have any questions please talk to me about it

Professional History
My patients often laugh when I share that I’ve been in dentistry for almost 20 years. The fact is, I have been around dental patients for just under 20 years, hearing your concerns, helping you make informed decisions and supporting you through the treatment. For the last 5 years it has been me proudly performing high quality dental care on the Mid-North Coast, yet I’ve been by patients sides for many more than that. You may have been one of thousands of patients I have had the opportunity to care for in Taree, Laurieton or Wauchope. If so, thank you and I look forward to continuing the care for decades to come in South West Rocks and the Port Macquarie Hastings region.
I completed my Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2016. When I do something, I always give it my best and was fortunate to receive numerous awards including the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award (2016), Rudolf Gunz Medal for Academic and Clinical Achievement (2016) the Deans Award (2013) and the Graduate Dentist of the Year Award (2016).
In the years post graduation I have put this passion into my post graduate continuing education with a focus on comprehensive planning and Restorative care as well as orthodontics and recently focusing on Implants. In this time I founded the Dental Head Start Podcast, created to help dental students become great dentists. This allowed me to interview and get to know many of dentistry’s best.
A Little More About Me
Why would you become a dentist!?
Perhaps this is your first thought too – and fair enough!
As a teenager, I managed to find myself needing a few dental appointments. As the inquisitive person that I am, I asked enough questions to be given an opportunity to do work experience which led to a job as a Dental Assistant. It genuinely took me by surprise to become fascinated with the intersection of medicine, working with your hands but above all, creating relationships with patients and caring for them through what is often a anxiety provoking experience. We can make a difference to these patients, improve their experience and help their oral health and confidence in theirselves and their smile. This is my purpose – to create a caring dental experience that empowers my patients to make the best choices for their oral health. That means making it comfortable, giving you the options and helping you fit it into your life circumstances.
My wife and I have called Port Macquarie home since 2017, after being married in Tinonee and falling in love with the region. The beach and the bush are places that keep me grounded and I can be found trail running or mountain bike riding in my spare time. But more often I’m with my young family

David is a fantastic dentist with modern, current dental expertise. He has a dedicated understanding of differeing age groups and their special requirements. This is a computerised surgery showcasing its treatment plans to patients in a user-friendly manner. The professional hygienist and staff are also top quality. Cheers

I had informed staff of my anxiety with visiting the dentist and was looked after so well and informed step by step about what would be involved and given the chance to ask questions and stop if i needed to during the procedure. Both girls who were assistants and David the dentist were great. Thank you for such a kind, caring environment in what is a quite stressful situation for some.
